The Measures for the Protection of Geographical Indication Products consists of 36 articles, which clarifies the basis of the supreme law and departmental responsibilities, the examination standards and procedures for geographical indication products, the management responsibilities of applicants and the obligations of producers to produce according to the standards, and strengthens the protection of geographical indication products.
 
In specific application, based on the principle that the new regulations are superior to the old regulations, if there is inconsistency between the two regulations regarding the recognition, management, and protection of geographical indication products, the new regulations shall apply; For cases involving administrative law enforcement, relevant provisions of the original regulations shall continue to be followed.
