1) Introduction     
 OAPI (African Intellectual Property Organization, referred OAPI) from the former French colonies in the country's official language is French, consisting of a regional alliance to protect intellectual property rights. Compared with other organizations to protect intellectual property in the world, it has a separate legal system to protect trademarks members,  completely bound by the organization and its member states in the field of trademark , and no separate trademark system. OAPI organization established a unified  intellectual property office in Cameroon's Yaounde , unified management  the trademark affairs of member states .
2)a list of member states(currently a total of sisteen countries):
Cameroon,Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Congo,Chad, Gabon,Guinea, Guinea-Bissau,Cote d'Ivoire(Ivory Coast), Mali,Mauritania, Niger,Senegal, Togo,Equatorial Guinea.
3)Trademark registration procedures
OAPI using the International Classification of trademark registration,each applicationcan beastandard three categories,namely the time of filing the issuance of official notice of acceptance.After review by the official, that the issuance of a certificate of registration.If you do not pass the official examination,the examiner will give notice before dismissing,and must be heard in order to determine the applicant's reply.
After the registration of the trademark in the Official Gazette make an announcement,theannouncemetperiod of sixmonths,ifno objections,trademark registration validity period specified in the certificate of registration from the beginning.Ifsomeone objection,the OAPI organization will make a decision after hearing both sides of reply.
Aboutoneandahalfaccepted(paymentnotice),6-8,12-18monthsnoticecertified,trademark registrationis valid for10 years starting from the date of filing.Although OAPI organization to implement the principle of first come,but usuallyrequirethe applicantto use the markin anyoneMember State before we can be effectively protected.If you want to propose a trademark renewal, you must submit supporting documents for use in any Member State.
4)trademark applicationmaterials requiredthe applicant to providethe following documents:
  (1)Company Name,Address(Chinese and English);
  (2)International classification and designated goods/services listand other information;
  (3)business license copy;
  (4)Five copies of trademark standard, requiring clear,good quality paper.If color trademark standard, require to submit a black and white draft  ,five-color drafts  ;
